It is essential to ingrain in our minds that dogs are family. Humans’ circumstances change over the years, but a dog’s loyalty doesn’t. Yet we hear a lot of abandoned dogs’ stories all over the world. When will this ever stop?
One cold day in Romania, the non-profit organization, Howl Of A Dog, received a report about a dog roaming around the railroad station. The shelter immediately sent out people to rescue this said dog.
As the rescuers arrived at the location, they were in complete shock with what they saw! The dog keeps on crossing rail tracks as if no train is bound to come.
They realized saving this dog is a complete danger, but they persisted. As the rescuers approached to catch the dog, he keeps on running away and crosses more rail tracks.
The rescue needed careful planning because it could cost lives. Eventually, they opted to redirect him to a safer place away from the rail tracks.
The dog could’ve smelled the treats they have on hand or realized that they were there to save him because, after some time, he approached them. At a closer look, they saw a scar near his left eye and keeps on limping, which prompted them to bring him to the vet.
The nine-year-old dog’s left eye is blind, but his right eye is perfectly fine. They found out that he has a microchip later on. The shelter earnestly hoped that they could witness a happy reunion.
After contacting the owner, he revealed that his dog, Bobi, ran away 10 miles from home. However, he didn’t want to take him back anymore and wanted the shelter to take him in. You can watch his rescue here:
Despite the heartbreaking situation, the shelter still helped Bobi. They neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped the sweet boy so that he’ll be ready for adoption.
On March 1, 2018, Howl Of A Dog shared in a Facebook post that Bobi has a new home! His new mom and dad are Donny and Dawn of Delaware, United States. Way to go, sweet boy! Here’s a video of Bobi playing with his brothers, Bo and Jack.
